GIA Graduate Gemologist, Jewelry Designer, Goldsmith
After serving five years in the U.S. Army, which included an extended 16 month combat tour in Iraq, Charles was eager to join the family business and return to Bozeman, Montana. Before joining the family business, Charles followed in his father’s footsteps and obtained the best jewelry training in the world at the distinguished Gemological Institute of America. Charles was a full time student for two years and was awarded the highest scholarship at GIA. While at GIA, Charles received state-of-the-art training in all facets of the jewelry industry including bench work, jewelry design, and gemology. Charles became proficient in the GIA International Diamond Grading System™, which is used everywhere in the world. He also became efficient at colored gemstone identification. He holds the prestigious title of GIA Graduate Gemologist, which is internationally recognized as the hallmark of accomplishment, credibility, and distinction among professionals within the jewelry industry.
Charles worked for a prestigious fine jeweler in Southern California while attending GIA before returning to Bozeman in 2009 to work with his family at Jewelry Studio.
Since returning home, Charles has been awarded the prestigious title of Registered Jeweler by the American Gem Society (AGS). Charles has become the only AGS Registered Jeweler in the Gallatin Valley. To earn this title, Charles had to complete the required coursework study, along with written and practical exams in diamond grading. The title assures consumers that this jeweler truly understands jewelry, diamonds and gemstones, and has proven their commitment to the highest standards of ethical practice.
Additionally, Charles has focused his attention on becoming skilled at the most advanced technology systems in jewelry design. Charles uses a cutting edge computer aided design (CAD) system to create his designs exactly how he or his clients have envisioned. Charles finds it extremely rewarding to help clients design the ring or jewelry piece of their dreams. Charles, a graduate of Bozeman High School, is thankful to be back home in Bozeman with his wife Krystle and their two daughters.
