"
I find my design inspiration in a wide variety of artistic expressions,
from African art to contemporary sculpture. My Jewelry is an eclectic
mix of textures, techniques and cultural references that come together
to create a collection of special interest."
A painter, sculptor and furniture designer as well
as jeweler, Alishan Halebian started his artistic career in the
College of Ceramic Art in Armenia. He continued his studies in design
and drawing in California and started his jewelry career as a stone
setter. However, with his artistic talent he was soon designing
special orders for retail clientele. Alishan won the prestigious
Design Competition Award from the International Pearl Competition
in Japan in 1993. His talent was awarded again by the American Gem
Trade Association when he received a Spectrum Award in 1994 and
an Honorable Mention award by the International Pearl Competition
that same year.
He is widely known as one of the leading designers
of timeless pieces with precious metals and gemstones, and has won
numerous prestigious awards internationally. Some of them are from
the International Pearl Competition in Japan, and others in the
U.S. namely the American Gem trade Association (AGTA) and Platinum
Guild International. To fully integrate himself to the jewelry industry,
he became, and still is an active member of the International Jewelry
Design Guild, Contemporary Design Group, American Gem Trade Association,
and a highly regarded member of the American Jewelry Design Council
where he serves as board member and treasurer.
Alishan, uses precious metals, distinct gemstones
and pearls in his creations, all of which play an integral part
in the creation of his timeless pieces. Alishan's designs are art
pieces sculpted in fine jewelry. His discerning clientele are attracted
to his designs for their notable individual characteristics. With
every unique piece, he provides a Certificate of Authenticity assuring
originality and the highest standards of quality.
